I’ve honed in on my next song and am doing the final tweaks. If all goes well, I expect to release it in about a month.
It’s called Thistledown. This one was inspired by a character in a novel I read many moons ago, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke.
The project ended up taking on a big, symphonic feel. I was in a really heady, creative space and spent a lot of time just experimenting and playing around. I’m not exactly sure what drew me to this novel as a reference point, but I think it was the atmosphere of the music that led me there, rather than the other way around.
